Today, we went to Golden Acre park in Leeds, and boy it was cold! The wind was biting, so we didn't stay as long as we wanted, but we will definitely return in the warmer spring or summer.
I was probably too optimistic and took a picnic, which we ended up eating in the car...
When we arrived we came across a large lake where there were a lot of ducks, geese and birds, glad I remembered to take bread and bird seed.
Then walking on the path, both children picked up a stick each. And the rest of the visit the stick stayed with them.
C used hers for marking "x marks the spot" on the pathways and being a pirate
S used his for discovering, and poking into holes
Most other children we passed also had sticks, something so simple but enjoyable to play with on a walk.
Even though snow was still on the ground in places, there were lovely signs that spring is on the way!
A lovely Easter walk, and will will return soon.
