How Does your Garden Grow? 15

Well hello! For the last 5 days we have been on our holidays, we are back now and I have taken FAR too many pictures. I wont put them all in this post but you have been warned what will be coming over the next week or so.

We went to Northumberland, a beautiful county in England, and had a great time.

So, for this weeks How Does your Garden Grow? I am showing you our visit to Alnwick gardens. Alnwick castle is where they filmed some of the Harry Potter films, we didn't go to the castle as frankly it was too damn expensive. We went to the gardens (which I thought were also expensive at £33 for a family ticket - maybe I am tight?)

Let me show you what we saw.

As you entered there was a vast expanse of grass with space hoppers littered around for kids to play on.

The water cascade, which was fantastic

They had diggers for the kids to play on.

They have a poison garden and have a tour through the garden talking about the plants and why they were in there.

Walking up the garden, vast covered walkways, looked great and also were a welcome shade from the sun that day.

At the top of garden, they have an ornamental garden - this was my favourite section.

They have a great water garden, although I didn't take any pictures here that I want to share as it was filled with kids and I couldn't get decent pictures without other peoples children in the shots.

Then they had a bamboo maze

And finally a tree house, which looks so impressive from the outside - but was actually the most disappointing section, the whole area were cafes and places to eat.  Being a treehouse you want a great kids play area - it wasn't.

So that was it. Alnwick gardens. We had a great day out and visited a lovely garden.
