Ever since S was 3, he has wanted to go to London. I go to London with work, and he always asks 'did you see Big Ben?' the answer is always No.
At the weekend we finally went to London, and the kids got to see our capital city. It was really great to do the tourist things, also to see them through their eyes.
My sister and brother in law offered for us to stay in a flat in London so we jumped at the chance - a huge thank you to them and for them showing us around!
Here are some pictures of our weekend.
We went to Greenwich saw the Cutty Sark. Went up to the Greenwich observatory and saw the great view at the top of the hill.
By the flat, we were very close to London city airport. It was great to see the planes.
Whilst we were on a bus, (we think it was) a practice for the changing of the guards in a few weeks time.
We went to Hamleys toy shop, I didn't take any pictures. I am sure my blood pressure was sky high in there, it was very busy.
From Green park to look at Buckingham Palace, the Queen was in as the flag was flying high.
Then we took a walk to Big Ben
Aching feet took us back to the flat for the evening.
We were staying very close to the Thames Barrier so we went to take a look in the morning before heading home.
A great trip. It was wonderful to see the city through the children's eyes.
Cant wait to go again, but next time we may not try and cram so much in!
