A road very close to home that I pass every day to work has a grass verge and then a park (bear with me, I do have a point to this) The local council this year have planted wild flowers between the road and the park.
Alan Titchmarsh is currently running a campaign called Plantlife The aim is to try and convince councils to sign up to his road verge campaign, this is so wildlife and wildflowers can flourish instead of being cut back. You can support as well by signing up as a 'Verge Warrior' here
I thought it looked blummin' fantastic!
So full of colour and the plants had a lot of bees and insects on.
Hopefully more councils adopt this, so local areas can have more insect and plant life, bringing much needed bio diversity into urban areas.
