I have been invited, by Annie over at Manneksjur to take part in a blog hop. She has asked three questions, about my blogging life, which I shall hope to answer in this post.
I’ll then be nominating two fab bloggers for you to discover, and they in turn will hopefully do the same, so you can find some lovely new blogs to read.
Q1: What have been the doings/makings/scribblings at your desk over the past week or so?
I don’t have a desk at home, I have a lovely long sewing table in the den that I use sometimes. Generally I just sprawl out over every room (much to my husbands dismay) I am crocheting a blanket for my son, I really have to get this finished, it is a never ending project that I started a year ago and keep putting down more than picking up. I need to get this finished *slaps own wrists*
I am making elderberry wine from last Autumn, I really must bottle it but I can’t bring myself to sterilise all the bottles, so at the moment it is still sat in the large bucket. We have lots more foraging trips planned.
I have quite a few ideas for recipes that should come to fruition in the next week or so.
Writing this makes me realise I seem to be procrastinating rather than actually making anything at the moment... Will try harder after the school holidays.
Q2: Where are you currently finding your inspiration?
Gosh, quite a few places but mainly outside. I love being outdoors in the fresh air, lots of thing in nature give me inspiration. Watching my children enjoy the outdoors also is a huge inspiration. Reading other blogs, seeing how they tackle a subject is very interesting. Also the usual design blogs like Design Sponge.
Q3:How important is being creative to you & how do you blend this with your work/life/family balance?
I am very lucky to have a creative job that I love, so this is a large outlet. In ‘my’ time I have lots of ideas, just not enough time... Lots of new things I want to try, things like basket weaving, silver clay, lino printing, felt making (I could continue but it would end up quite a large list)...
Years ago (pre children) I used to really enjoy photography, when the children came along and digital took over I kind of fell out of love (and couldn’t afford the kit) earlier this year I bought myself a lovely Canon D600, and I love it so much. At the moment this is quite a large outlet but I still have so much to learn but I am totally enjoying learning!
And that is it.
So to nominate two very different bloggers to talk about their creativity. I nominate
Cerys at Mascara and Mud - this is one of the first blogs I started to read and still continue to, her love for life is amazing.
Ben from Aperture64 - his photography is utterly brilliant, the way he breaks down the shots he has taken is really inspiring.
