Gosh it feels like such a long time since I have written a gardening post. I think it has been about a month. Today we are revisiting our garden.
In the garden over the last few weeks we have gone from wonderful sunshine to torrential rain and wind. Some of the plants have taken a bit of a battering.
At springtime I bought a small climbing yellow rose, it hasn't climbed much, but it did put out two flowers last week. Within one day the rain had stripped the petals. Hopefully next year I will get to see it in the full glory.
The clematis has been ravaged by snails, so is looking a little worse for wear, but it still has a lot of buds on so it may look pretty again soon
The astrantia major that looked wonderful a few weeks ago, is still looking pretty but in a different way.
The sweet peas are no longer flowering, we went camping and I forgot to water the pot they are in, I still love the tendrils.
Some plants are still looking very pretty, such as the japanese anemone and lavender
We don't grow a lot of things to eat in the garden, but for the things we do grow this year has been a bumper crop. The raspberries have been prolific and it looks like we will have a bumper crop of hazelnuts as well this year, I have spied a few already on the tree.
I have also seen a bramble poking through the fence from next door, it has come to rest on top of the hen hut and has blackberries on that are not quite ready yet - it seems too early for blackberries!
And that is the garden!
Linking up to Annie at Mannerskjur, pop on over to see other gardens.
